What are the functions of the shaft end seal of a twin-shaft mixer?

Prevent material leakage

When the mixer is running at high speed, if the shaft end seal is poor, it may cause material leakage, thus affecting the normal operation of the equipment and even affecting production.

Protect bearings

Poor shaft end seal will allow materials to enter the bearing, accelerate bearing wear and shorten service life.

Avoid shaft end leakage

The shaft end seal of the mixer is located on the mixing shaft between the mixer housing and the mixing shaft. Its main function is to prevent the mud from being squeezed out of the housing from the fixed-moving gap when the mixer is working, commonly known as shaft end leakage. Because the mud contains solid impurities such as sand, once it squeezes into the fixed-moving gap from the housing, it will wear the components. Once the mud blocks the lubricating oil port, the mud will harden in the gap, which will aggravate the wear and damage of the components, and will also cause leakage at the shaft end. If the mud breaks through the seal of the support bearing assembly and enters the damaged bearing, it will directly cause the mixer to fail to operate normally.
